Medichemia / SAV

Built during the industrial construction boom of Bratislava, the end of 19th and beginning of 20th century. Originally, it used to serve as a mill. In the ’50s it housed Medichemia company branch. Afterwards, it became property of Slovak Academy of Science, and until 1997, The Department of Microbiology and several sites of Department of Ecology resided here. After 1997, the building was used as a dormitory, and recently it gained status of „prevailing useless property“ of Academy of Science, and went into ruin. The building disappeared in 2008. At the moment of exploration, it preserved traces of all its previous functions, and one could find there from old law books from ’40s and ’50s to lots of empty jars from preserves that workers brought from home.
